Since the patent on the unaligned load/store instructions expired, is there any plan on adding them?

Implementing the unaligned load/store instructions efficiently isn't trivial since it could require two passes through the ALU which no other instructions currently require.
It has been possible to avoid the instruction. I don't currently have any plans to add them. Are the instructions really needed? |
