To whom it may concern:

I have successfully built the OpenRISC ToolChain (binutils, cross compiler, uClinux, or1ksim, but NO gdb) on MacOS 10.4. I followed the EMBECOSM application note 2 to achieve this. Some workarounds for minor MacOS related things were needed.

I also built the loosely timed SoC Model with SystemC TLM-2.0 using or1ksim as described in the EMBECOSM application note 1. Again, a couple of modification were needed to get it to work.

I summarize all the necessary modifications in the report available for download at http://chschroeder.gamiro.de/rg/or1ksim_macOS10.4.pdf

The report also describes some changes that improve the performance of the or1ksim TLM-2.0 interface, as well as the performance of the SoC model.

best regards
Robert

This is an excellent document Robert. I'll be incorporating parts of it in future updates to my application notes.

The sections on performance are valuable for everyone, not just MacOS users.

Many thanks

Jeremy
