Electronic System Design
ESD Electronic System Design gmbh based in Germany is using the transmit channel of opencores HDLC controller.
They use it in one of their projects and helped OpenCores to verify the core in real hardware. Here is what they said about opencores:

The free cores from opencores.org are always welcome. Currently the transmitting part of the open HDLC core is used in a custom design, that needs special timestamping information for every transmitted HDLC frame. This is an ideal task for a free core that can be modified for this special application."
