Hi,
I and my colleagues use openrisc1200 project for teaching purposes. Today there are only FPGA based implementations of openrisc1200. We want to extend education program. We want to implement openrisc1200 project in open-source platform used for building electronics projects. To do this, we are interested in openrisc1200 SoC, because it will be cheaper than FPGA. We are preparing a project for Skolkovo that would provide financing in this area. The title of project is Processors with the enhanced bit manipulation instructions for signal and image processing, cryptography, e-learning and training purposes. But we have a problem with this project. We are looking for developers who had experience in this field. |

Interesting project.
Can you give some more details, about this project? What software and hardware will be used etc. |

Not much in depth experience, but I am happy to join the project and help if someone leads it.
I gratuated in electronic Engineering and have good knowledge of RISC architecture, signal processing, VHDL and transistor layout for SoC. Would be good to have more info. Thanks Giuseppe |

OpenRISC ASIC Requirement Specification (http://cdn.opencores.org/pdf/or1k-asic.pdf) is good for details about the preparing project. In addition we've put our module of the enhanced bit manipulation (EBM) into SPU to increase performance of the processor for cryptography.
The main requirement of the project is low cost Oprenrisc+EBM ASIC. We are looking for partnership opportunities. We want to reduse cost of project and minimise risks. |

redbear look for link "OpenRISC ASIC draft specification" on donation opencore page: http://opencores.org/donation.
What more there is in sotovls project - it is unknown... |

How about an idea to engage Skolkovo, that would provide financing in this area ?
