Hi Michael,

Congratulations on your work. Great to see the blog describing it all. Now all I need is a few more hours in the day so I can play with it!

Best wishes,

Jeremy

Hello

We are glad to announce, that eCos-3.0 port is now tracking the latest eCos tree. All changes have been rewritten against the code already checked in the official eCos repository. That way all license requirements are satisfied.

Here is a link to our blog post: http://antmicro.com/Blog/2012/03/ecos-3-0-port-to-openrisc-tracking-mainline/

The wiki page has been updated with detailed instructions and screenshots: http://opencores.org/or1k/ECos

Best regards,

Congratulations and good work!

Do you know if (or when) it will be included in the upstream version?

Hi Olof,

In my opinion, the port still needs some work before we try to check it in.

Best regards,
Piotr

To be more precise, for the moment we are planning to track the eCos mercurial, improve some things connected with the more exotic configs (known issues are mentioned on the opencores wiki) and when we think it is stable enough - especially when other opencores people find the time to run it and see if we didn't miss any important stuff - we can try to mainline the code. Of course at that time it will be up to the eCos maintainers to accept the port.

Why do you ask?

Hello

We are glad to announce that eCos-3.0 port supports ethmac Ethernet peripheral now. With the option to choose among different network stacks, eCos gives a lot of flexibility for network applications.

Please see our blog post for details how to include the driver in the eCos build: http://antmicro.se/Blog/2012/05/openrisc-ethernet-driver-for-ecos-rtos/

You will hear from us about new drivers soon. Our goal is to add drivers for most common peripherals and therefore make the RTOS more popular.

Best regards

Hello

As promised in our last post, we would like to announce that eCos driver for SD card host controller is now available. Please visit our blog for details how to include the driver in the eCos build: http://antmicro.se/Blog/2012/05/sd-controller-driver-for-openrisc-ecos/

Please note, that eCos supports a number of filesystems. It is now very easy to develop applications that mount SD cards with partitions and filesystems.

What is even more interesting, is that now it is possible to build RedBoot (a popular bootstrap environment) with SD support.

Best regards
