OpenRISC for newbies.
I will talk about my OpenRISC blog tutorial at the OpenRISC Project Meeting
in Stockholm. See you there, 13-14 October.

I have written an article in EE Times called "Four soft-core processors for embedded systems". OpenRISC is one of them.

Very cool. I do agree with you that the website has grown confusing. I have been gone for some time and when I returned I found it difficult to find things. Anyway, thanks for your work and excellent article.

Excellent article. And good point about the website. We really need a contributor dedicated to editing the wiki to keep it in good shape. All the information is there, but it is the devil's own job finding it.

hi,
I modified or1200 cache architecture from direct mapped to 4-way set associative cache. I am running coremark on 4-way cache architecture. I am getting output as --
2K performance run for parameters for coremark.
coremark size : 666
----------------
-----OTHER FIELDS----
----------------
etc...
but Total time & Iterations/sec these two fields are blank(no value).
But finally message like "correct operation validated" is coming.
If Total time & Iterations/sec are blank so what is the meaning of "correct operation validated"????
I am using ml505 board & gdb for debugging.
Also, when I am terminating gdb by pressing ctrl+c then following message is coming --

"Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trace/breakpoint trap.
0x00006068 in exit(i=10) at or1200-utils.c
asm("l.nop %0": :"k"(NOP_EXIT));"

I hope I am to you.
Please help me in this matter.
Thank you.

Hi, I'm following your tutorial, and I have some problems.

1. Writing-application-program/2.5
The figure at the end doesn't show the message below "Data bb read from memory location 1c000e".
I tried to do the same things. After reading the data, or1200 crashed. Is it normal?

2. Loading-and-executing-program/2.7
After loading the SPI image and power-cycling, I saw "Program succeeded", but the board four of the LEDs do not light up.
I found that the message on my terminal is different with yours. Is it the reason?

0x16a8a0 (1484960) bytes loaded up from 0x0
0x6bec (27628) bytes loaded up from 0x1c0000
Using user-specified prom size of 16384K
Writing file "orpsoc.mcs".
Writing file "orpsoc.prm".
Writing file "orpsoc.cfi".

3. Adding a serial terminal/2.8
When runing make in the directory of the USB UART driver, some error occur.
(similar issue at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14408930/usb-driver-compilation-error)
I'm running Linux kernel 3.8.0 (ubuntu 13.04). It seems xr21v1410 doesn't support 3.8.0

I would greatly appreciate any help and suggestion.
