You can set Opera to always show all images, only show images that have already been downloaded (cached), or not show images at all. </p> <p> <span>Tip:</span> Click the "Show Images" button on the Address bar (or press <kbd>G</kbd>) to turn images off and drastically increase speed. </p> <p> Animated images are mostly advertisement banners. Turn animation off to get a calmer browsing experience. </p> <h2 title="Audio and video" id="audio-video">Embedded audio and video</h2> <p> Some Web pages contain video streams and background sounds. Disable embedded audio (turn them off) if you find them annoying. </p> <h2 id="java">Java</h2> <p> Some sites use Java to offer interactive content on Web pages. You must download and install plug-in software for each type of plug-in content. (The Flash plug-in is automatically installed by Opera.) </p> <p> Disable plug-ins to avoid plug-in content in Web pages. </p> <p> <span class="note">Tip:</span> Opera can display a <a target="_blank" href="opera:plugins">list of plug-ins</a> currently installed on your computer. </p> <p> <span class="note">Note:</span> If you visit a Web site that requires a plug-in you have not installed, or if you have disabled plug-ins, the Web site will probably ask you to install a suitable plug-in. </p> <p> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.opera.com/support/service/plugins/">Learn more about plug-ins</a> </p> <h2 id="javascript">JavaScript</h2> <p> JavaScript is a scripting language used to add certain functions to Web pages. </p> <p> JavaScript may in rare cases be used intrusively and can therefore be turned off.
