Could someone tell me if it would be impossible to design a Graphics Processing
Unit chip design that implements a similar technology used in multi core central processing units. As far as i can tell the advances in semiconducter manufacturing technology made in the CPU chips have found their way slowly to the GPU manufacture so with this in mind i cannot see why a GPU chip cant be a multi core system like their CPU equivalents. regards B M Matthias |

It wouldn't be impossible, it just wouldn't make much sense. GPUs are
massively parallel anyway, to speed them up one would just add more of
the processors that execute shaders on today's GPUs (a Radeon HD 2900 XT
has 320 of them).
