Hi how about starting from a single-core assignment. But, since you seem to be determined: 1) will both cores access the same memory address space? 2) will they have different tasks assigned to them? Can these tasks be scheduled independently from each other? |

Dear Amir
As you know design of CPU is not an easy task to peruse, What I would like
to know is have you ever been involved in designing a simple CPU before?
During my MSc I designed a simple 20MHz DSP processor (32bi data bus) and it
took me about a year.

You could use JOP. All files for a multi-core JOP are part of the
repository. We had last week the first time a 8-core version of
JOP running ;-)
Cheers,
Martin

Hi,

If you want to write your own core, multi-core capability is just one of a lot of design considerations. Certainly one I wouldn't start with. Regards Markus |

First the wheel, then the skyscraper. Help yourself with this book:

Kaufmann/dp/1558605967
Whenever you've read and fully understood it, I recommend you to take
a look at the OpenRISC processor in opencores site. Regards,
VÃctor

Dear friends:
thx a lot for ur consideration...I've implemented a single core for one of
my courses and i also read that book completely and scrutinizingly.
i think i have base knowledge for implement this project....but i think it
needs more than one person to involve in this project...i want to implement
something that is valuable.i don't want this project to be so complex like a
Intel processor but i want this to have base principles.
i'd be appreciated if give me any ideas that u have!!!
Best wishes
A.yazdanbakhsh
