my name is Giuseppe, I'm a student of the University of Catania in Italy.
I installed IDE 9.2i and I have to install JOP in Spartan 3e. At the stage
of mapping the erro messages are:

'cpm_cpu_cmp_core_cmp_stk_cmp_ram_cmp_xram_block' with
type 'xram_block'
could not be resolved. A pin name misspelling can cause this, a
missing edif
or ngc file, or the misspelling of a type name. Symbol 'xram_block' is

supported in target 'spartan3'.

Hi Giuseppe, some VHDL files are generated during the build. See the FAQ: http://www.jopwiki.com/FAQ You have to run part of the make or ant based build process to generate those files. For JOP the xram_block VHDL files are generated with a Java program
as part of the build process. No need to use Xilinx coregen.
The build process generates memory blocks for Altera and
Xilinx FPGAs.

Hi,
I' had got exactly the same problem as Giuseppe.
Thanks to Martin I resolved my problem.
When I have updated jop.nfl project to the new project jop.ise with ISE
Webpack navigator 9.2i, files was missing on xilinx/ directory.
this files can be generated with the following commands :
cd asm
ant -f jopser.xml

I encountered a very similar situation a couple of days ago. The solution was to follow the clue in the error message: "a missing edif or ngc file". I had generated the core in a folder different from where I was using the coregen VHDL file. So I had to go to the folder where I had generated the core and copy the *.ngc file from there and drop it into the same folder as where I was performing synthesis and translation. And Voila! that worked!
