I'm
planning to use Ocidec-3 core (which supports DMA) but in order too do
this (as far as I understood) I need to use a Wishbone DMA bridge core
and I need also to substitute my current PCI controller with PCI bridge
core (http://www.opencores.com/projects.cgi/web/pci/home) because I
need to use PCI controller as bus master during DMA transfer.
Is there anyone who have already do something similar? Are there other
way to use DMA on ATA devices? Any suggestion?
Yes, we have done OCIDE3 with Wishbone DMA controller and Opencores PCI core.
Performance is not fantastic. You need to tweak your FIFOs to get any
reasonable performance out of it. What sort of read and write performance
do you require for your application?
