Hello,
We are researching the possibility of implementing peripherals in FPGA, under Linux. Could you tell me which open source cores have Linux drivers already developed (or being developed) for them? I thought that the idea of having free OS drivers for free cores would make sense, but couldn't find any trace of such effort. With regards, Piotr |

Check out the OpenRisc project. It is an open source risc processor with a UClinux port, Ecos port and preliminary Linux port. If there are drivers, they will probably be in either the UCLinux port or the Linux port. There are only a few devices with drivers.

There are only a few devices with drivers. there are at least open ethernet & uart drivers in linux (and uclinux). for some (like memory controler) you need only simple initialization... and yes, the openrisc mailing list is probably more appropriate for this discussion. best regards, p. |
