PIC - Altera Cyclone

Hello all.

I'm looking for a project to deploy/port a PIC clone core to the Altera
Cyclone devices.
I'm learning to use the Quartus software (:-P) and I would like to see
the sources of a very simple MCU in order to take ideas and learn as
much as possible, before start.

Any suggestion or idea?

I've been considering trying out the MiniRisc core, which is a PIC clone.
