hi to everyone....
i'm new to the FPGA segment but i have to do reasearches on implementing ethernet and possibly tcp/ip on an FPGA. so first of all my question would be if it is a big efford implementing an open source IP core for the ethernet interface on an FPGA or if there are similar less tedious options. seconde question deals with possible implementations of higher layer com protocols like tcp/ip. the idea is about an embedded system to control some peripheral device connected to the ethernet bus. do you guys think an pc-104 or similar solution would be more efficient or do you think the FPGA solution is better. would be really helpful if someone could help me out. don't hesitate asking further details of my problem, because i really need some expertise knowledge on that matter. a final question would be if there are developer platforms for high level languages, in this case C since i'm quite fit programming C. thanx for your guys time.... cheer, stefan |
