Hello,
I currently plan to develop an interface core to connect a WISHBONE
system to a MOST bus.
MOST is a high bandwidth (24 Mbit) in-car communication system which
currently uses an optical media. It is currently used in high price
cars (BMW, DC, Audi,..) to transport all kind of multimedia stream
data like audio (CD, DVD, tuner, phone,..) as well as all other block
based data like navigation, internet or any other data.
A very rough specification about the bus can be found at
http://www.mostcooperation.com/.
The problem with this bus and this project is that MOST is martyred by
a single company and it's strategy to build a monopoly. (The name of
this company is not mentioned here but can easily be found on the
mentioned web site as the only silicon supplier).
(I do absolutely not understand why a BMW, DC or others allow a single
company to build up such a monopoly and even protect this behavior.)
This monopoly ends in the fact the published specification does really
specifiy what is going on on the bus. E.g. the bit coding is only
described with the words "biphase" and "preambles".
Because of that I need support from persons who have access to the
missing specification parts or have the tools to analyze a ring and
find out it's hidden secrets.
Please send me a mail if you want to participate and describe what you
could contribute.
