Hello all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
It's good to get an Opencores Audio DSP board up and running, and however
I can help, I will. I've got experience coding in VHDL, as well as
dedicated audio systems design from a few pro hardware manufacturers. I've
been spending my spare time working on my AudioSpartan project located at
http://proteus.ugwarehouse.org/projects/AudioSpartan/ and have a lot of
periphery developed so far. The one difference (and it's a big one)
between my AudioSpartan project and the one proposed for OC is that the
AudioSpartan was designed as a stand-alone development platform, instead
of being used with PCI.
So, let me know how I can help, and what's on the tasklist, and I
will be more than happy to contribute in whatever manner possible!
Best Regards,
Joe Grisso

Features looks great, have you some pictures? The one difference (and it's a big one)
between my AudioSpartan project and the one proposed for OC is that
It's not that big difference anymore :) fac2222m project new feature
(not documented yet at project page) is stand-alone function also, with
FireWire interface for notebooks... Where to put FW connector?
I don't know. I must find some place behind...
This is A. Bonello suggestion

the AudioSpartan was designed as a stand-alone development platform, instead of being used with PCI.

Hello
It's very good idea - audio card.
I can write some tiny components in VHDL.
I should refresh my DSP knowlege from my study times :)
I can be in.
Greetings.

No problem, at least it will be good enough to have courage and to be hardware and FPGA skilled a bit ... All other things are writen in books... :)
I should refresh my DSP knowlege from my study times :)
some good starting points for refreshing theoretical things are:
http://www.analog.com/processors/processors/sharc/technicalLibrary/data_word_size.html
http://www.analog.com/UploadedFiles/Application_Notes/44311363022792059121065L_Audio_Tutorial.pdf
ftp://ftp.analog.com/pub/www/library/applicationNotes/dsp/32_Processors/65LI2S.zip
http://www.analog.com/ in general...
At this point it be very useful to think about reasonable modifications
about project rather than it will be finished, and this is one and only
way to build good hardware.
Yes, thinking rather than it will be finished!
I can be in.
Ok, thanks for support. You are in :) We need your suggestions about overall conception. Best regards, -boggy
