I'm about to start to develop Audio (AAC) and Video (separately) MPEG4
encoder and decoder cores in VHDL.

I'm looking for relevant documentations (structure/blocks description,
implementation & optimization suggestions etc.).

There exists reference motion estimation implementation as defined
in MPEG-4 Part 9.

If you do some search you can get a couple of reference hardware
implementations
for both full-search motion estimation and DCT. Which can get you started.

Hi Nikolas, I already implemented DCT core (for JPEG encoder/decoder). about other thinks you've mentioned, I didn't find any paractical information.
