Hello
I downloaded VGA/LCD Core v2.0 Specifications from the opencores. It has only one document explaining the architecture and registers configuration.

I ported the VGA (with Avalon wrapper) in the SOPC Builder design flow of Quartus II. I generated a system which has NIOS II and this VGA controller along with onchip memory, sdram and jtag uart. After compiling and synthesis through Quartus II, i get the output file for software file which are PTF and SOF files.

Now i want to write application using NIOS II EDS 9.1, but i dont have enough background about the VGA to use it software application.

Can anyone assist me how to get the information for writing VGA software application ??

Hi Enggadnan

The documentation seems to give you a good explanation of the architecture and the registers. It sounds like you are asking for advice on implementing a VGA device driver using this hardware?

That will depend on the environment you intend running on your chip. Is it bare metal, or a RTOS or Linux? Your best approach is to take an existing VGA device driver and modify it to use the architecture you have.

I believe Richard Herveille who wrote the Verilog still reads these forums, so you could try posting specific questions here.
