GASP functionality?????

Can anyone please tell me the functionality and purpose of using GASP (General Access Serial Protocol) and DoC (Debug On Chip)?

Debug on chip, we generally drive the device in debug mode to ensure the functionality of system at different stages of operation.
For eg: when the device is in debug mode, we execute each instruction, halt the further operation of device and read(check) status of the register bits at that instant of time to ensure proper operation of the device. Correct me if i'm wrong. |
