Hi all,
I am building Ubuntu (Oneiric, Precise) packages for popular HDL and embedded development tools. Most of the packages are copied from Debian 'sid', but some are modified. gtkwave 3.3.30 (copied from Debian) iverilog 0.9.5 (copied from Debian) iverilog-daily 0.10.0 (latest daily build from GIT) iverilog-snapshot 20111127 (snapshot of the development branch from 27. Nov 2011) libsystem-perl 1.340 (package required for Verilator SystemC 2.3.0 support) libsystemc 2.3.0 (SystemC 2.3.0, TLM is not integrated yet) libverilog-perl 3.313 (copied from Debian) urjtag 0.10+r2007 (copied from Debian) verilator 3.831 (this package can be combined with SystemC packages) This is the PPA repository: "https://launchpad.net/~team-electronics/+archive/ppa". Run the next line in the terminal to enable it, than run update and upgrade: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-electronics/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade The Verilator package differs from the one in Debian/Ubuntu, since SystemC is not in Debian repositories due to licensing issues. Support for SystemC is enabled and paths for SystemC libraries are compiled into the executable so there is no need to set environment variables. To enable SystemC support packages libverilog-perl, libsystemc and libsystem-perl must also be installed. TLM is not yet part of the libsystemc, since a version compatible with SystemC 2.3.0 was not yet released, but it should be soon (next month probably). The iverilog package has three options any of the three options should automatically remove the the currently installed one. So if you install iverilog-daily, it will replace iverilog (9.5). If you have trouble with daily builds just install again iverilog, it will replace iverilog-daily. There are some SystemVerilog features implemented in the daily builds, but is not clear what is implemented and what not, so for now it better to stay with Verilog 2005. But still there are many improvements in the 0.10.0 development branch, so using the daily builds is cautiously advised. Urjtag is r2007 from SVN (from about September 2011), I am working to provide daily builds, but it will take me some time. This package was not tested by me. Since currently I am the only user of many of this packages, there might be packaging issues present (missing files, wrong paths). So please report issues, and I will welcome suggestions. Regards, Iztok Jeras |
