Would a person that knows little about FPGA's and Verilog be able to take the OC PCI bridge and a simple Wishbone device (i.e. the GPIO core) and using Xilinx's WebPACK be able to assemble a working image (not sure about the lexicon there) for a Insight Memec 2S200 PCI kit?
My goal here is to learn a bit about not only FPGA design but also about PCI interfacing and Linux device drivers. I realize that I quite possibly 'should' just get myself a small FPGA kit and work with that but I have the cash for the PCI card and that is really what I want to work with. I find it much easier to learn when I am working on something that is truly useful to me. Thanks for your time. Adam |

You can build the VGA R2R DAC on a P160 mezzanine and run the VGA demo. I
got it up with not to much thinking. You can then start to change things and
it could be a head start. Understanding PCI and wishbone probably however is
hard work, that I didn't get by until now by only rebuilding the example.
