Help with first Wishbone Compatible IP

Hello,

I was interested in adding a FIFO module to the soft processor I am working on, but could not find one that was wishbone compatible. I looked online and found another FIFO module to emulate, and then tried to mix it and someone else's wishbone compatible code to see if I could get it working.

To just get something working I in theory have it set up so when the C program reads from register 0 it should return an 'E'. If they read from register 1 it should respond a '9' or an 'a'. Currently it returns an upside down '!' on the first read, and on every read after that. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I am mostly confident it's not a bug in the software or in the actual connection to the processor because I did that the same way I've connected other IPs.

I have attached the code for the FIFO.

Thank you,

Chris
