Hi everybody.

I'm new at this community and also young at hw design.

So I'm asking you experts.

I'm wondering what's the best solution to implement a processor core with I2C and SPI communication interfaces.

Is there an already available good SoC project for this purpose?

Can anybody help me, please?

Claudio.

We have used both SPI and I2C a lot together with OpenRISC. If you want a SoC to look at you can check out the OpenRISC Reference Platform (orpsoc) where there are preconfigured SoCs for the Terasic de0_nano and de1 boards.

There is not much official documentation yet, but you can find some tutorials here http://www.elec4fun.fr/2011-03-30-10-16-30/2012-08-22-20-50-31/or1200-barebox-on-de1 and here http://www.designspark.com/eng/blog/booting-linux-on-a-de0-nano-with-orpsoc that might help you get started

Good luck,
Olof
