While not Verilog, I think Gaisler's Structured VHDL Methodology is quite interesting. http://www.gaisler.com/doc/vhdl2proc.pdf http://www.gaisler.com/doc/structdes.pdf While emphatically not *good* Verilog, you may enjoy the "literate Verilog" of RISC SoC I designed back in 2000. "Designing a Simple FPGA-Optimized RISC CPU and System-on-a-Chip": http://fpgacpu.org/papers/soc-gr0040-paper.pdf http://fpgacpu.org/papers/soc-gr0040-slides.pdf Here the processor+SoC design was a Word document from which I extruded a Verilog source file. Hi Lauro, Thanks a lot for the information :) Now I am reading the "Computer Organizations & Design" and wish to know the basic of CPU design. Is it helpful to understand the TV80 code? I wonder. And by now, the fiber from American to Asia is broken. And it take me a lot lot of time to link to outside. Can anyone help to send me the TV80 document at ghutchis.googlepages.com/tv80homepage Thanks in advance! Best regards, Shenli On 12/30/06, Lauro, John jlauro at umflint.edu> wrote:
From what I can tell, the tv80 is a good example of verilog. That said, I haven't seen enough to know what is good and what is not, but I have heard it recommended by someone else besides the original author in the past. -----Original Message----- From: cores-bounces at opencores.org [mailto:cores-bounces at opencores.org] On Behalf Of zhushenli at gmail.com Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2006 8:05 AM To: cores at opencores.org Subject: [oc] (Improve Verilog skill) Recommend CPU core with good documentand coding? Hi all, These days, I found my Verilog code reading speed is not fast like my C/C++ reading speed. It take me a lot of time to understand Verilog code than C/C++ code. So, I want to read through a small CPU core (I prefer line http://www.opencores.org/mailman/listinfo/cores
