Hi I am a beginner and I need a vhdl code for a simple network on chip (noc) router architecture, first I must develop a simple NoC e.g. a 2x2 mesh, then add static VC organization (for example 4 VC per channel), then expand the NoC. now I just need a sample code or some help in writing the code as a start point. Thanks in advance.

Is this a class project?

For those who are interested in how a "soft core" might be built, composed, the pieces of it, or the architecture associated with it: might I suggest the set of video lectures put together by Rajeev Balasubramonia on youtube? The last several lectures in the series discuss NOC's, both their design and implementation.

Might I further suggest, for anyone so interested, that a simple NOC-based RAM/cache, accessible via a wishbone bus interface, would be a valuable contribution to open cores? [kian_mary]'s request for NOC code is certainly a reasonable one, I can't seem to find any such code here on open cores (maybe it's there and I've missed it), but ... with a decent NOC implementation many of the soft cores found here could faily easily be turned into massively parallel systems on a chip.

Any thoughts?

Dan

Here's a project worth looking at for anyone interested in NoC RTL.
