little-endian or32 binutils

Is there a striaghtforward way to build or32-binutils so it produces little-endian
code? I've tried modifying config scripts and #defines in what seemed to be the
obvious way, but it didn't work. Looks like it builds a little-endian entry in the
_bfd_target_vector and it's the selected target, but this entry seems to be ignored.
The assembler still generates big-endian code.
I saw in a previous thread that little-endian isn't supported, but it would be "a
small change". Could someone give me pointer as to what this small change would
entail? I have some experience with assemblers, but this is my first time inside GNU
binutils.
Thanks,
Jeff
