Hi ! I want to ask that stock latest binutils is usable or better use opencores CVS to obtain a good binutils for or32 ? Does anyone merge mainstream binutils or32 support regulary ? I ask because opencores's CVS binutils is a little bit outdated as version. And what about gcc ? ~cristian |

The stock latest binutils doesn't actually work. it wasn't refreshed in a long while. the opencores cvs version works (i havn't yet seen a bug that would produce incorrectly linked binary), but it does lack weak symbols support (and is quite old frankly).

unfortunately no. i wanted to move to newest binutils and then merge them into mainline, but i can't find time to do so...

i agree.
And what about gcc ?
or32 is not in official gcc tree, but the version on the opencores cvs is current (gcc 3.4.2). even so, the port would need a face lift, generated code is not exactly optimal... best regards, p. |
