hi,
I have tried building openrisc's toolchain right after installing Redhat Linux 7.2 on my pc. Everything is fine when I build the binutils, but I am now stuck in the step of building or32-uclinux-gcc. Error message goes like this: " ..... HEADERS="ansidecl.h dbxelf.h elfos.h or32/or32.h or32/elf.h or32/linux-gas.h or32/linux-elf.h defaults.h" DEFINES=""\ TARGET_CPU_DEFAULT=""\ /bin/sh ../../gcc-3.2.3/gcc/mkconfig.sh tconfig.h make[1]: *** NO rule to make target '../../gcc-3.2.3/gcc/config/or32/or32.S', needed by 'libgcc.a'. Stop." Here is the configuration of my building enviornment gcc 2.96 (the default version of RH7.2) autoconf 2.13 automake 1.4-p6 bison 1.35 flex 2.5.4 I guess this is the standard given in the guide by Robert Cragie except for a gcc of 2.96 version but some former posts here state that toolchain building goes all right with gcc 2.96 so I guess that's not the point, right? So could anyone here give me some suggestions? |

Did you remember to include the binutils binaries you built in your path? I
remember seeing something like this if you don't do that.

Yes. I am sure I have included binutils in my path.
And I have done the same thing in cygwin with gcc-2.95 and it turns
out to be fine. So I am a little bit confused. Any more suggestion about
the causes of the error?
best regards

Make sure the binutils binaries you build comes before anything else in
the path. Also, as Matjaz suggests, look at the ATS scripts as well.
