Hello ,

I am trying to implement Minsoc on Spartan 3E 500. I have followed all the steps. I am now having problems with using the Jtag[DLC9] cable for downloading the design. I am using Impact to dowmload the bit file on to the board. After the bit file is downloaded I am unable to use the cable with the adv_jtag_debugger.

I was trying the tweaks used.

1. I tried to uncomment the #define Startup option. But I am not sure how to download the hex file as well as the generated bit file from ISE onto the SPI memory.

2. I tried to RAM Intitialization script whic by passes gdb loading. But this doesn't work either. Meaning , I do not see the output "Hello World" on the serial terminal after I download the bit file.

Can any one of you let me know if I am missing something?

Thanks
Prathyusha

hi pganti, sorry if i haven't answered for your question before and that because i am not now in minsoc but orsoc project.

so back to your question, i have try before with DLC10 and it work fine but slow but it work with minsoc and i try also FTDI also.

so for now i haven't this cable now and also minsoc it has some change so i will see

do you use cygwin or linux? and also use must or1200-v1 and not v2 or v3

or try to use the command of adv without any other thing like "./adv_jtag_bridge -t xpc_usb" http://minsoc.wikaba.com/advanced_jtag_bridge_faq

for SPI, is simple just read the doc you will need to upload the hex file of the software in spi and bit file in prom

i think i will try to fix this with Raul and have some other tuto for s3esk and yes back to minsoc project again :)

finally if you have an error or problem put it all to see more details

good luck
