I use cross tools binutils-2.20.1-or32-svn + gcc-4.5.1-or32-1.0rc1 + newlib-1.18.0-or32-1.0rc1
to compile the newest linux3.1.4 kernel.
use "make or1ksim_defconfig" to generate .config file.
Everything is ok during the compiling.
but when i use or1ksim-0.5.0rc2 to simulate:
or32-elf-sim -f sim.cfg vmlinux
There is no output in xterm. Output in console this and stopped:
Verbose on, simdebug on, interactive prompt off

I think cross tools and or1ksim is ok, because i use them to compile and run orpmon perfectly.

Hi godspeed1989

I don't think you are using the correct simulator configuration file. There should be one in arch/openrisc inside Linux.

There should be two versions, one for use with Ethernet, one without, although recent reports suggest the version without Ethernet is not there. If you do use Ethernet, you'll need to set up a TUN/TAP bridge. Look at the Or1ksim manual for guidance on this. There are also some scripts in the Or1ksim distribution that can help with this.

HTH

Jeremy

Sorry, I can't find or1ksim configuration files in linux-3.1.4 sources tree.
From here:

Hmm... I just checked git.kernel.org and you are right. There is no or1ksim configuration file in the kernel tree. I believe you can use this one in the meantime http://git.openrisc.net/cgit.cgi/jonas/linux/plain/arch/openrisc/or1ksim.cfg
