Ok I tried to reproduce the error:
The telnet connection is working fine, but seems to break down when aborting commands.
On the serial connection the problem looks like this:
Please press Enter to activate this console.
# ifconfig eth0 192.168.37.5
# Jan 1 00:00:37 login[45]: root login on 'pts/0'

This happened after I logged in with telnet and did something like "find / | grep myfiles" and aborted this with ctrl+c. The "find / | grep xy" seems not to cause the problem. But the interrupt with ctrl+c.
The network connection breaks down and I can't get it up working again (ifconfig down / up, killall inetd, inetd& ...). The board also isn't available for a ping command. Only a reboot helps.
Any ideas?

Hi rerdfh,
I am experiencing similar problems, when I try to ping out with packet sizes greater than about 470 bytes. Also telnet fails for me to, but it seems to be related to the amount of data that is sent. For example, if I do telnet to the board and then try list the contents of a directory with many files. My conclusion is that there is a problem with larger Ethernet packets. Sorry, I don't know what the solution is. Steve |
