Hi there,
i would like to use a usb wlan stick with the new ORSoC board.

Is this possible?

What are the steps to be taken?

I think it is something like this:
- Comment in USB master somewhere
- Connect pins in Quartus
- Activate USB in the kernel sources

Or is it done in another way?

Kind regards

Yes, this is quite possible. We have been using an Atheros based USB WLAN adaptor (TP-Link TL-WN722N) for some of our testing and demonstrations. As shipped, the ORDB2A has full USB host support in Linux, just connect a micro A male to A female assembly such as Digikey 839-1132-ND. Because of the USB On-The-Go support, the ORDB2A has a little extra logic to power the micro-AB port only when the ID pin is pulled low (which micro-A connectors do). It is possible to use non-compliant cabling such as gender benders if you modify that logic, which resides in the orpsoc_top module; look for usb0enable_pad_o.

Why usb0id_pad_i in orpsoc_top is output? It is connected to ACC_DET (contact 4 microUSB AB connector).
