Thanks Jeremy.
When we follow the steps given to generate the binary files from GNU Tool chain, the following apt-get not working (since this is ubuntu command). sudo apt-get -y install build-essential make gcc g++ flex bison patch texinfo libncurses-dev libmpfr-dev libgmp3-dev libmpc-dev libzip-dev Can you tell us what is equivalent for this in Red hat Linux ?? Thanks in advance.. -Kranti |

Hi Kranti, From memory, the equivalent on Red Hat/Fedora would be:
sudo yum install build-essential make gcc g++ flex bison patch texinfo libncurses-devel \
libmpfr-devel libgmp3-devel libmpc-devel libzip-devel
Note in particular that Red Hat/Fedora uses "-devel" where Ubuntu uses "-dev" in names. HTH Jeremy |

Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for your reply .. If I dont have support for "yum" command in my current Red hat linux version, what would be alternate solution for the same ?? Thanks in advance.. Regards, Kranti Hi Kranti, You must have quite an old version of Red Hat linux. Even so you should be able to find a version of yum to install. http://rpm.pbone.net has versions going back to Red Hat 7.X. You'll need to install it using rpm, for example. sudo rpm -ivh yum-arch-2.2.2-1.rh7.rf.noarch.rpm Then you can use yum to install all the other components. Alternatively hunt on pbone for RPM versions of all the pre-requisite components and install them in turn using the rpm command. HTH Jeremy |
