Hi Folks,
I am trying to build the or1k GNU tool chain from source on RHEL6 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) because the CentOS binaries didn't work. (I got the following error when running the CentOS binaries on RHEL6: "/opt/or32-elf-1.0rc1/bin/../libexec/gcc/or32-elf/4.5.1-or32-1.0rc4/cc1: error while loading shared libraries: libmpc.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".) When I try to build from source on RHEL6 I get the following error when using the bld-all script: checking for correct version of gmp.h... yes checking for correct version of mpfr.h... no checking for the correct version of mpc.h... no configure: error: Building GCC requires GMP 4.2+ and MPFR 2.3.2+. Try the --with-gmp and/or --with-mpfr options to specify their locations. Copies of these libraries' source code can be found at their respective hosting sites as well as at ftp://gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/infrastructure/. See also http://gcc.gnu.org/install/prerequisites.html for additional info. If you obtained GMP and/or MPFR from a vendor distribution package, make sure that you have installed both the libraries and the header files. They may be located in separate packages. configure failed. I am new to this stuff, so I am not really sure what I am doing. Do I need to download additional yum packages fro RHEL6? Which ones? Is it even conceivable that I could succeed at this effort? Or should I look for another Thanks, John Pavan pavan@surfnetusa.com |

You need a set of additional packages to build GCC. It is quite easythe wiki gives details in the tool chain prerequisites section: HTH Jeremy
