Hi All,
Please let me know the file formats supported by or1ksim simulator, I was trying to load ".ihx" file, but it doesn't seem to get loaded. ".elf" files are running fine. Please let me know. Thanks, Rajani |

Hi Rajani, Just ELF - it uses the binutils loader code IIRC. HTH Jeremy |

Hello Jeremy,
Please let me know if we can modify the simulator to support IHX format so that we can try the BE and LE version of a testcase. Thanks, Rajani |

Hello Jeremy,
Please let me know if we can modify the simulator to support IHX format so that we can try the BE and LE version of a testcase. Thanks, Rajani Hi Rajani, There's nothing stopping you adding a loader for Intel Hex format. You'll need to find the point in the Or1ksim code where the loader is called, and add your own alternative which reads IHX. You'll want to add an option to tell Or1ksim to expect IHX (or maybe it should assume this for files ending .ihx or .hex). I don't know much about IHX, but I believe it is much simpler than ELF. I don't know if you will need extra options to say where in memory it is to be loaded, or if it automatically will start at address 0x00000000. I've recently transferred Or1ksim to GitHub (https://github.com/openrisc/or1ksim), since most people seem to prefer this version control system. If you make a successful patch, please post it to the mailing list for review and potential inclusion. Don't forget to update the documentation if you do so. Best wishes, Jeremy |
