Hi All,

I'm using the instructions at this website to try to compile the OpenRISC toolchain from scratch: http://kevinmehall.net/openrisc/guide

I'm compiling on an OpenSUSE 12.1 x86_64 machine. (4 cores, 3GB of RAM, 100's of GB of space)

When I run this command:

make PREFIX=/home/USER/openrisc

I get a few errors.

The first error seems to be this:

libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../binutils/bfd -I. -I../../binutils/bfd -I../../binutils/bfd/../include -DBINDIR=\"/home/magreen/openrisc/bin\" -W -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Werror -g -O2 -M\
T verilog.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/verilog.Tpo -c ../../binutils/bfd/verilog.c -o verilog.o
../../binutils/bfd/verilog.c: In function verilog_write_section:
../../binutils/bfd/verilog.c:225:15: error: variable address set but not used [-Werror=unused-but-set-variable]
cc1: all warnings being treated as errors

make[5]: *** [verilog.lo] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/binutils-build/bfd'
make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/binutils-build/bfd'
make[3]: *** [all] Error 2
make[3]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/binutils-build/bfd'
make[2]: *** [all-bfd] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/binutils-build'
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/binutils-build'

The other error occurs at the end:

ERROR: Could not generate syscalls.
Make sure that you have proper kernel headers.
Your .config in KERNEL_HEADERS="" was set to:
/home/magreen/openrisc/or32-linux/sys-root/usr/include/
make[1]: *** [include/bits/sysnum.h] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/uClibc'
make: *** [/mnt/hgfs/OpenSUSE_Shared_Folder/project/OpenRISC2/toolchain/stamps/install-uClibc] Error 2

What do I do to solve the problem? Attached is the entire log of the compile (What was printed to STDOUT)

This is the error that I would find most suspicious.
------------------------------------------------

checking for the correct version of mpc.h... no
configure: error: Building GCC requires GMP 4.2+, MPFR 2.3.1+ and MPC 0.8.0+.
Try the --with-gmp, --with-mpfr and/or --with-mpc options to specify
their locations. Source code for these libraries can be found at
their respective hosting sites as well as at
ftp://gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/infrastructure/. See also
http://gcc.gnu.org/install/prerequisites.html for additional info. If
you obtained GMP, MPFR and/or MPC from a vendor distribution package,
make sure that you have installed both the libraries and the header
files. They may be located in separate packages.
