Hi, I would like to change the simulator from Icarus to modelsim. From the user guide, it said I can just change to "SIMULATOR ?=(modelsim)" or "SIMULATOR ?= (sim)" in sim/bin/makefile. But after my changes, it doesnt display the waveform in modelsim. If I wanna check the simulation waveform in modelsim, What should I type in the terminal?

I used Isim, the free simulator from Xilinx in my OpenRISC tutorial.
See my blog: http://www.rte.se/blog/blogg-modesty-corex/isim-hdl-simulator It was a good replacement for ModelSim. |

Here is the right one: http://www.rte.se/blog/blogg-modesty-corex/simulating-orpsoc-using-isim |

You have to run the test using
make rtl-tests VCD=1 MGC_NO_VOPT=1 Now the vcd file will be created in sim/out directory You can convert the vcd file into wlf file , open modelsim tool and open the wlf file to view the waveforms. |

Or use gtkwave, which IMO is a much nicer tool to view waveforms in, to open the vcd.
