Hi,

I would like to add EDAC (with hamming code) to the SDRAM of the actel tut board of ORPSoC. I see there is a codec.v file being used as encode and decode modules in the versatile mem controller, but I am not sure what this is supposed to do and I also don't see any documentation explaining it.

What and where do I need to look to edit the mem controller to be able to add support for EDAC? As far as I can see the mem controller is quite complicated and combines the 8 bit values read from the external flash (where the program is saved) and stores it as a full 16 bit value in the SDRAM. Since extra bits are needed for the hamming code I am at a loss for implementing it, since the addresses and everything is integrated with the rest of the SoC.

Any help and guidance as to where to start with this process would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,
Francois Nolte
