Anyone get the automated builds for the OrpSOC working on Cygwin under Windows 7. I installed the latest git downloads and tried to run
orpsoc build de1 but I am getting errors in my de1.tcl file that is causing Altera to give errors...is this only intended for linux and not cygwin? Salman |

Hi Salman,
I've been curious to know if ORPSoC works on windows, but I haven't had the time to try it myself, so it looks like you are the first one to try it. It would be great if you could send over the console output, the contents of orpsoc.log and everything under build/de1/build-quartus, so I can try to figure out what's wrong. Unfortunately I don't have a windows box so I'm not sure I'll be able to fix it right away //Olof |

I got it to build on the DE1. The problem was that the de1.tcl file that was being created has /cygdrive/d in the path to the files and quartus_map was choking on that. I changed all instances of the path to d:/ and it compiled all the way through.
I would like to port it to the Digilent Nexys3 board for a Spartan-6. Is there any tutorial on how to go about that or should I just try to figure out from the generic directory from the orpsoc-cores/systems directory. |

Congratulation Salman,
may I ask you if you were also able to generate a software compile flow on cygwin as well ? I failed (see a few threads back) and it would be great if you were successful and let me know how it works. Cheers, Tobias |

Hi Salman,
I totally forgot about this. Unfortunately I haven't had time to add Xilinx support yet, but it's high on my priority list, so hopefully this can be done in a near future. I'm also very happy to hear that you managed to get theh de1 port working under cygwin. I'll try to make a patch that detects if you are running on cygwin and uses \ instead of / in that case. Best Regards, Olof Kindgren |
