I'm sorry if this is not the appropriate place to comment on this subject, but I couldn't find specific directions for providing feedback anywhere else.
I see that the website has undergone a redesign somewhere in the last months (haven't used it for a while, I admit). My main complaint is about the Projects list, which I deem to be a very important page on the site. The way projects are shown now, all projects are initially collapsed into a few categories. Although categorization is a good thing, collapsing all projects by default worsens usability, for the following reasons: - Many times, we do not know at first into which category a given project falls; other times, we simply want to browse through the projects, randomly. - The top 'filters' bar is not adequate; those selection boxes ('Written in', 'Stage', etc.) should actually be checkboxes. For instance, it is not possible to select projects in an arbitrary selection of languages (e.g., Verilog OR SystemC), which would be trivial with checkboxes. In other example, it is not possible to select projects marked as 'stable OR mature'. - There is no shortcut for expanding all sections at once; the fact that I can't see a list of all projects at once (except if I go through all categories one by one) hinders me from using my web browser's integrated search facilities. I can provide more support for the above, or opinions on other subjects as well, but first I'd like to be sure this is the correct place to do so. Please keep up the good work! |
