Memory BIST Design

I want to design any March algorithm in MBIST controller. To be accurate, design a BIST to test memory (RAM/ROM). Develop an RTL code and simulate Using VCS tool.

I do not have much background in this. I am more of a beginner and would appreciate any kindof help regarding this.
