I am trying to synthesize a CPLD project, which was originally implemented in ISE 8.2.
furthermore, the code was burned on a CPLD board and worked fine.

When trying to synthesize the project with ISE v9.1i (with Xilinx XST synthesizer) I got the following failure message:

WARNING:UtilitiesC:159 - Message file " ¶ 2 XST_IMPLEMENTATION_CONSTRAINTS.msg" wasn't found.
41Process "Synthesize" failed

This warning prevents me from implementing the design.

Does someone know what it indicates?

Can advise me what to do?

Thanks,

Abe

Hello Abe

Try to read www.xilinx.com/itp/xilinx10/books/docs/xst/xst.pdf start at page 442.

I reviewed the document, but didn't find any reminder to this file:

XST_IMPLEMENTATION_CONSTRAINTS.msg.

Do you know by any chance what this file mean?

Is it possible that I need to install an additional service pack or something?

Maybe a file is missing?

Thanks,

Abie
