the existing proprietary core which we've selected has an existing range of low-speed peripherals such as USB2, I2S, SD/MMC and so on, so these parts do not need to be worked on. however a serious upgrade is needed: faster peripherals. in the transition to high-speed peripherals (USB3, SATA3, Gigabit Ethernet) we came up with the idea of creating a separate "high-speed peripherals chip" as a stand-alone desirable product with a USB3-client interface.

in effect this chip would be a combination of a TI TUSB9261, an Asix AX88179, an AC97 audio interface and a few more pieces as well.

my question to the general opencores community is, therefore: is anyone interested to band together to create this peripheral chip as a stand-alone saleable product?
