Hello,
Has anybody here given any thought to finding a way to manufacture a free/open-source computer computer or tablet that would use as many open-hardware devices as possible? A few parts would still need to be bought e.g. an LCD screen, but now it should even be possible to make the plastic shell using a RepRap. Question is, what could be achieved with mostly free/open-source hardware today, and how could it be done economically? Cheers. |

Hello,
I don't think this way to be suitable for earning money. You finally encourage people for buying another company's . Some how, This staff could be useful in order to make a tool for teaching computer or tablet hot works. Sincerely yours |

The goal should be to ensure freedom in computing rather than just earning money. But we can have both: They aren't mutually exclusive. |

No, but you could do something different for your reprap.
Create your reprap controler based on FPGA design rather than the common sheilds currently avaliable for reprap |
