Hello,

Has anybody here given any thought to finding a way to
manufacture a free/open-source computer computer or tablet
that would use as many open-hardware devices as possible?
A few parts would still need to be bought e.g. an LCD screen,
but now it should even be possible to make the plastic shell
using a RepRap. Question is, what could be achieved
with mostly free/open-source hardware today, and how could
it be done economically?

Cheers.

Hello,

I don't think this way to be suitable for earning money.
You finally encourage people for buying another company's .
Some how, This staff could be useful in order to make a tool for teaching computer or tablet hot works.

Sincerely yours

The goal should be to ensure freedom in computing rather than just earning money.
But we can have both: They aren't mutually exclusive.

No, but you could do something different for your reprap.
Create your reprap controler based on FPGA design rather than the common sheilds currently avaliable for reprap
