Thanks @olof for your mention of the tutorials https://github.com/openrisc/tutorials/
Earlier this year 2016 I tried working through generations of build instructions, Kevin Mehall 2012 -> Electria 2013 with an important fix pointer here in OpenCores with a fix to unsigned/decimal in C90. Each was outdated by different modules migrated svn -> git etc, and I hoped for curated active tutorials. How do you want feedback or contributions? I got the openocd built once so far having scratched around for library dependencies and automake issues. Currently pulling updates so I can repeat the build more carefully and with usb support this time. I'm using a vagrant build starting from a clean ubuntu/trusty64 (but increased core memory eg 4G, enable x forwarding for the quartus install, and now enabled usb). Using vagrant means I can rinse/repeat from clean, but I have updated the Makefile so I'm not waiting on the large downloads every rebuild. Anyway, I'm keen to support the tutorials even as I try to work through them, Thanks again + Best regards, StephenH |

We are aware of the situation with outdated tutorials, and all I can do is apologize for the mess :/
Great to hear that you found our new tutorials helpful though, and we are very happy to recieve feedback and contributions. If you have corrections for the tutorials, you can either create an issue or a pull request to https://github.com/openrisc/tutorials/ . For lengthier discussions or questions, I suggest that you send a mail to the OpenRISC mailing list (register at https://lists.librecores.org/listinfo/openrisc), or join us on IRC (#openrisc at freenode.net) Thanks, Olof |
