IDSEL implementation

Hello,
I am new to PCI and I have a doubt with IDSEL generation. It has been mentioned in the PCI spec that AD [31:16] can be used to generate the IDSEL signal for 16 devices. So each address line is going to be connected to IDSEL pin of some device. Suppose I have only 2 agents in a PCI bus (separate host is not present), is that like I should connect say address line 16 to agent 1 and and address line 17 to agent 2 on the top module of the code. If I am not correct, I request you to please correct me. Thanks. Regards, Karthik. |
