I am a newcomer of USB and l am a student too. I take part in a project. A fucntion of this project is to transform usb to rs232 with cpld/fpga. Because i am not familiar with usb, i have no idea about it. I need you help.

A good starting point would be to read the USB specification.

Three exellent books on USB are:
* "USB Complete" Jan Axelson, Lakeview Research, http://www.lvr.com
* "USB Design by Example", John Hyde, Intel Press
* "Universal Serial Bus System Architecture", Don Anderson, MindShare
The first two are excellent general USB references with lots of good
implementation examples. Be sure and check out Jan's web site. The third is
an excellent detailed reference on how USB works but is very thin on
implementation examples.
