I am interested in devellopping some projects based around an AVR core on an FPGA as this allows one to use readily available FPGA development kits as the control center of the project, while using readily available and open source development tools.

Is normal C/ASM compiler will support this AVR Core? Normal compiler support 130 instructions ,but I can only find 70 instrunctions from the VHDL source code. Where can I find the suitable C/ASM compiler?
