Hi,
I want to run a multi threaded c-program on newlib tool chain. Do I need to build additional libraries to build those application(ex:pthread). Please list them and explain how to add those libraries. Thanks, A.Vamsi |

Hello
You can easily develop multithreaded programs using eCos RTOS. All steps to build eCos app are documented here: http://opencores.org/or1k/ECos Please let me know if you feel anything is missing. Here you can find an example code of multithreaded program: http://ecos.sourceware.org/docs-1.3.1/tutorials/vr4300/ecos-tutorial.13.html Best regards Piotr Skrzypek |

Hi avamsi Newlib doesn't support multi-threading. It is a very simple C library for bare metal use. Threads require some sort of underlying operating system. You are best following Piotr's suggestion. If you don't like eCos, there are other RTOS available - the Wiki (http://opencores.org/or1k/OR1K:Community_portal) lists them. Best wishes, Jeremy
